Asian-Pacific Vintage Inspired Look
The temperatures are rising and even here in Northern Germany it is summer now. Hence, today I have an extravagant Asian-Pacific vintage inspired look for you. I am a big fan of creating extraordinary looks now and then.
In the picture above, I am wearing a true vintage Trevira maxi dress which is probably from the 60s or 70s. Who doesn’t love the floral print and the bright colours? In fact, I’ve thought this outfit goes well with my beetle wing earrings. Thus, I’ve given it a twist and combined the beetle wings with large flower studs that I created myself a while ago. The jewel beetle wings were a traditional embellishment on royal Thai garments from the past.
Dreaming of the tropics
Actually, all the jewellery I am wearing with this look, I did myself. The bangles are also DIYs. I think it looks very impressive and interesting to stack many different bracelets together. These ones were originally inspired by a Mark Montano DIY. There is nothing more colourful and sparkly, no?
Oh and the flower crown! These are all DIY flower hair accessories as well. It is quite amazing what you can do with some fabric flowers, hot glue and bobby pins. Perhaps this look also reminds you of the Frida Kahlo looks that I did a while ago. Frida Kahlo’s iconic and artistic look is always a great source of inspiration to me.
Well, I am dreaming of escaping everyday life. As a half Thai person, the tropics are my place to be. However, at the moment I am stuck in Northern Germany. Neverhtless, I am a tropical girl loving the warm climate. If I had my way, it could always be summer and that would make life much easier, also in terms of clothing.
Just imagine a wardrobe with only summer outfits. That would be heaven to me! Perhaps I am just living in the wrong place? There is so much change that I wish to bring about in my life but I can only start small.
In a nutshell, I love to create looks that express myself and the feelings I am experiencing. Maybe this kind of expression gets overlooked at times. However, to me it is also a way of escaping reality in order to get a glimpse of the life I desire. How do you feel? Let me know in the comments below.
