Lola Ramona Ava Macleod Tartan Heels
I’ve been looking forward to the Ava Macleod yellow tartan heels for a while now. Thus, I’ve been so happy when they have finally arrived! As you know, I am a great lover of tartan and plaid print. Hence, I’m really happy to own a pair of tartan shoes now! Perhaps you’ve read my recent post about Vintage Tartan Pattern Love?
I’ve received these shoes as a part of a collaboration with Lola Ramona. In fact, I’ve had my eye on their colourful and extravagant shoes for a while now. The Ava Macleod heels are 100% vegan and part of the Free Spirit collection for spring/summer 2021.
I like about these shoes that they are really a showstopper and the colours are bright and beautiful. The yellow is quite striking. What is more, I like this shoe because they are vintage inspired but also modern and unique.
The only drawback is that the sizing seems to be more on the smaller side. I am inbetween a EU size 39-40. I’ve got the heels in EU 39 and they are a bit small. Hence, if you are inbetween two sizes I would recommend ordering the bigger size.
Vintage Outfits & Tartan Heels
Nevertheless, I’ve already created a few outfits with these shoes. Firstly, I think these heels go very well with my 70s style inspired denim romper. Just wear a plain shirt underneath this jumpsuit and you’re good to go!
Second outfit is about a black 60s inspired dress by Retro Stage. I feel that a neutral dress like this black one goes very well with the extravagant heels.
Of course, the pin up style inspired turban adds an instant retro touch! Actually this is my go-to hairstyle to make an outfit look more vintage. To be honest I am not good at creating any kinds of elaborate vintage hairstyles.
Finally, you can also combine tartan with tartan, no? I think this is quite a cool combo. In the picture below I am wearing my Hell Bunny red plaid pants and a red shirt by Voodoo Vixen. Of course, you can also mix different patterns, right?
In a nutshell, tartan is probably my favourit pattern so far and I feel very happy to have tartan heels as well. Even though they are a bit small, I hope to get a lot for wear out of them. How about you? Do you like patterned shoes?
